Project overview.
The Tumon Maui well is a 1,000-foot underground horizontal well with a production capacity of up to 1.3 million gallons of domestic water per day.
The well was shut down in 1998 after volatile organic compounds, including TCE and PCE, were found in the water. The rehabilitation project addressed this important water-supply facility for the U.S. Air Force and U.S. Navy.
